Just prior to their third preseason game the Colorado Avalanche made another modest cut to begin the final week of preparations before the roster needs finalizing. The next cut is an expected hefty one which will get the Avalanche a lot closer to their 23 man (or fewer) opening night roster.

The only expected Eagles forward trimmed was Callahan Burke who got in one exhibition match but is headed to Colorado Eagles camp, presumably beginning sometime this week. Defenseman Keaton Middleton is in this boat as well after getting a single game look.
Other defensemen Nate Clurman and Jordan Gross depart to Loveland without any preseason action. This is a bit of a surprise in Clurman’s case as someone the organization was excited to sign as a local kid just out of college and in his first full training camp. Gross will need to clear waivers tomorrow before getting officially reassigned.
Goaltender Hunter Miska quietly got the boot last week as he was waived and send down without the Avalanche announcing anything until now.
Finally to round out the group is Tarun Fizer who is a 20-year old forward from the WHL and attended camp on an Amateur Tryout Agreement. He was injured in one of the rookie camp tournament games and has not participated in main camp at all. However the Eagles announced he is headed there on an ATO as well so hopefully he is healthy enough to participate and earn a pro contract with them.
