Following the disastrous preseason game number four on Tuesday night the Avalanche inched ever so closer to their opening night roster with a cut of two to bring the squad to 35 members.

Oskar Olausson had been impressing Jared Bednar but the road ended for him after appearing in the first three preseason matches. He was officially sent to Barrie in the OHL if there was any doubt about the path for Olausson this season.
One other forward who did not suit up in the fourth game is Andreas Wingerli and he has been sent to the Colorado Eagles. He was a nice camp story for some but will have to make some magic happen on North American ice first to get a callup.
Then on Thursday prior to the game in Dallas the Avalanche made another modest cut sending the four that cleared waivers at noon to the Colorado Eagles

Forwards Dylan Sikura, Stefan Matteau, and Keifer Sherwood each participated in a few preseason games but will head to Loveland until they are needed as Avalanche depth down the road.
The same can be said for defenseman Roland McKeown who had an uneven performance in his two exhibition games but as a right handed defenseman he could easily get called upon too at some point.
One final order of business goaltender Pavel Francouz was placed on Injured Reserve with a lower body injury and an expected timeline of 3-4 weeks. For now he still remains in the roster count, however.
