Prospect Weekly: Natural Quad Trick

Big news over last weekend was Alex Beaucage‘s incredible four goal effort late in the third period to erase a 4-1 deficit and then crafted the dagger in overtime to give the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies a 5-4 win over their rivals Val-d’Or. All goals were in succession for a natural quad trick. The QMJHL predictably named Beaucage their player of the week with six points in two games.

Take a look at this shot…

Elsewhere in the QMJHL Justin Barron scored his first goal of the season prior to departing for World Junior camp in Alberta. Here seen below is a smart play off of a faceoff where Barron shows off a nice wrist shot for the score.

Speaking of scoring, Sampo Ranta made the first game of his junior season at Minnesota count with this speedy display of power. Naturally the goal had to get reviewed for a hand pass in the defensive zone before Ranta did all the work but luckily it counted.

Adam Werner‘s time back in Sweden came to a close on November 15th when his loan agreement to Vita Hasten expired. For whatever reason a renewal was not elected and Werner is expected to spend a week at home before determining his next steps in order to get ready for Colorado Avalanche training camp.

Conversely, Jean-Luc Foudy is just now making his way to Sweden to begin his season and get some game action in their third division. The move apparently was initiated by him and his agent. He’s expected to return by OHL training camp in January.
