Prospect Weekly: Finding Goals

There’s a theme which has developed this week for the Colorado Eagles. Kicking off the week Jean-Luc Foudy scored the game winning goal in a 2-1 victory set up by Alex Newhook

Newhook then potted his own goal the next night, which was a shorthanded game winning goal and helped earn the 4-1 win and sweep over Texas.

*

Mikhail Maltsev added his own score of the night on the fourth and final tally and Foudy paid the price taking this hit to make the play which was deemed a match penalty. Thankfully Foudy was ok after the hit.

Newhook and Foudy continued as a great duo in a 3-2 win in San Diego. Foudy made an incredible move here on which Newhook managed to tip the puck and get the goal. Hopefully this was Newhook’s final weekend in the AHL and after 11 points in 10 games he’s ready to return to the NHL.

*

A highlight rarity, Tyler Weiss scored on a penalty shot to put the game away in an eventual 4-1 win. Weiss has enjoyed a strong start to his senior season thus far converting 12 points in 10 games and is second on his team in scoring.

*

Oskar Olausson was the hero for the Barrie Colts in a 5-4 win when he scored his second goal of the night in overtime. His shot is pretty much unfair at the OHL level and now has nine goals on the young season.
