Here it is folks, big #38!
Brosseau was drafted by the Nords in 1992 after back to back 96 point seasons in the Q. He turned pro in ’93 and eventually made his NHL debut with the Avs during the first Cup run. He played 8 games and had a goal and an assist, which I have no memory of. He signed with Bolts in training camp the next fall.
Before donning the familiar #13, Danny Hinote wore #38 in his rookie season. He was a 2nd round pick of the Avs in ’96 and made his NHL debut in ’99. The Blues signed him as a free agent in 2006. He ended up with 65 points in 353 games in Colorado.
Andreychuk spent 26 seasons in the NHL, a small part of one of them with the Avs. He was part of the Ray Bourque trade in 2000. Unlike Ray he didn’t stick around for the glory. He had a goal and 2 assists in 14 regular season games and 5 points in the playoffs.
Stephens ended up in the Avs org somehow in 2001 with the Hershey Bears and played 8 games in Colorado split between the next two seasons. That was his only NHL experience.
Barnaby was acquired at the deadline in 2004 and played 13 games with 4 goals and 5 assists in the regular season along with a couple assists in the playoffs. The Hawks signed him as a free agent that summer.
37 year old journeyman center Dowd was picked up at the 2006 deadline for the usual non-sensical reasons. He had a few points but really turned it on in the playoffs with 2 goals and 3 assists in 9 games. Signed with the Devils in the Fall of 2006.
After nearly a decade out of use the #38 went back in the lineup in 2014 worn by 2010 1st rounder Hishon. He played 13 games that year with a goal and an assist. He moved on to Europe the next season and was just named a coach with the Owen Sound Attack.
This one’s not even worth a poll. Danny Hinote is the only guy with more than 20 games and he’s really a #13.
