Who Wore It Best: Number 97

The number 97 is the highest number ever worn by an Avalanche player and thus concludes our look back at the all-time roster. It turns out we go out with a whimper rather than a bang because Per Ledin was a short-timer in the org.

The 30 year old Ledin was signed as a free agent in the Summer of 2008 after a long career in the Swedish Elite League. He spent the vast majority of the season with the Lake Erie Monsters but did get a callup to play 3 games with the Avs.

Tale of the tape:
29:48 minutes
2 shots on goal
3 shot attempts
Corsi for of 18
Corsi against of 38 (32.1% CF)
3 hits
2 takeaways
1 minor penalty

Nice.

He returned to Sweden where he finished out his career with HV71, retiring in 2013.

Sandie will be along shortly with a special look back at this series. This was really interesting to do, I learned a lot. Like how many truly awful players the Avs have had over the years and how many never played another NHL game after leaving Colorado. There were also reminders of good players that we may have forgotten and how the team was built in the 90’s. Thanks for coming along for the ride, dear reader.
