Prospect Weekly: The Top 3 Prospects

Although there are not enough prospects for a regular report it is time to highlight the top three prospects still in the Colorado Avalanche pipeline. Order them how you like but this trio is the best hope for impacting the NHL club in the future.

Congratulations to Sean Behrens and team USA for winning a bronze medal at the recently concluded World Junior Championship. He scored a goal (seen below) and two assists while playing a big role on the back end trailing only one teammate in time on ice. He is now back at Denver to close out his sophomore season.

Oskar Olausson is quietly putting together a solid first season in pro hockey as he is top five on the team in points with eight goals and six assists. He is a zone entry into a goal wizard as seen below and has now scored three game winning goals, tops on the Colorado Eagles. Hopefully another call up is on the horizon.

Last but not least is possibly the most impressive prospect currently in the Avalanche system and that is Jean-Luc Foudy who is now leading the Eagles in scoring with eight goals and 14 assists in 25 games. He was somehow not chosen as the Eagles’ representative to the AHL all-star game but hopefully he can be named a replacement as Brad Hunt is still in the NHL. Foudy can also score on a breakaway which is a rare sight in Colorado these days.
