Prospect Weekly: Filling the Net

Alex Beaucage was the star of the show for the Colorado Eagles in a lethargic 6-3 loss over the weekend. He scored this beautiful goal on his amazing wrist shot to give the Eagles a glimmer of hope in the game. Aside from the score he had the best jump and physicality of those wearing an Eagles sweater. Beaucage now has two goals and an assist on the young seven-game season finding more comfort with the pro game every day.

Elsewhere in the pro system Trent Miner has everyone taking notice. After a successful couple of weeks with the Utah Grizzlies he received the well-deserved call up to the Eagles on Sunday. Miner has a ECHL leading 2.11 GAA and a .921 save percentage in five games. In those appearances he posted a 4-1 record with two shutouts plus a shutout in relief.

Another player who is a constant source of energy for his team is Colby Ambrosio. He picked up this secondary assist for his sixth point in eight games. His tenacity on the puck is constant and will be welcome in the pro game when the time comes. (thanks to discord user RadioAvsFan for the link)

Drew Helleson is also helping Boston College fill the back of the net as he picked up two primary assists on the power play in a 3-2 win over Vermont. He too has had a productive early run with seven points on the season.

Enduring a very long layoff due to injury and season cancellations Matt Stienburg‘s junior year finally began and it seems like he found his scoring touch in the meantime. After potting a few through exhibition season Stienburg scored the game’s only goal to give Cornell their second regular season victory in overtime.
