Prospect Weekly: Fall in Europe

It’s that time again!

While most of the organization’s prospects are currently gathering at Colorado Avalanche training camp, the select few who remained in Europe commenced their 2021-22 seasons and have put a few points on the board in highlight form.

Nikolai Kovalenko scored his first of the year as a member of Ak Bars Kazan in typical Tank Jr. fashion by winning a battle at the net front. Kovalenko now has amassed three points in nine games with a bigger second line role than he’s been used to. Now teammates Daniil Zhuravlyov also has provided three assists in the same number of games for Ak Bars.

Also Kovalenko recently contributed a shootout tally which helped propel Ak Bars to a 2-1 win. His slick hands have always been an asset in these types of situations.

Meanwhile in Sweden, Nils Åman had himself a big night in a 4-2 win for Leksands he scored the first and fourth goal of the game (latter of which seen below) and added an assist to give him three points on the season in four games.

All the other leagues relevant to Avalanche prospects are expected to kick off in October which will bring back the weekly nature of this feature at that time.

Thanks as always for following along!
