GDT: Avalanche at Rangers, Game #1
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Your Colorado Avalanche take on the Rangers of New York City tonight above a train station. Game time is 7pm ET/5pm in the mountains and can be seen on Altitude and NHL.tv. Moser’s radio call will be available as usual.
What appeared to be a solid pre-season has become somewhat chaotic in the last day or so with defenseman Patrik Nemeth claimed off waivers from the Stars, Nikita Zadorov deemed to have some catching up to do and forward Joe Colborne waived and off to who knows where. Zadorov will join Carl Soderberg in street clothes for the season opener. Nemeth’s one practice must have been a good one because he’s instantly more qualified to play with Tyson Barrie than everyone else that played with him in the pre-season.
We have two players making their NHL debuts tonight in Alex Kerfoot and Andrei Mironov. Colin Wilson, Nail Yakupov, Patrik Nemeth and perhaps Jonathan Bernier will be playing their first game for the Avs. Chris Bigras returns to the lineup for the first time since April 3rd, 2016.
Andrighetto – MacKinnon – Rantanen
Landeskog – Compher – Wilson
Kerfoot – Duchene – Yakupov
Nieto – Jost – Comeau
Barberio – Johnson
Nemeth – Barrie
Bigras – Mironov
Scratches: Zadorov, Soderberg, Colborne? (not with team)
Injured: Greer (concussion), Boikov (shoulder)

Please come join us for game discussion and other odds and ends in the Burgundy Rainbow discord server. Tomorrow we’ll have video review from Rudo3 and a recap so keep an eye out for those.
Next game: Saturday at 2pm ET at New Jersey. Also might want to plan ahead for Monday’s 1pm ET start in Boston.
