Avalanche add yet another three cuts
The Avalanche keep trickling in the cuts, adding only three more to the list as the roster sits at a robust 45 players heading into the weekend’s three games in three days. Forwards JC Beaudin and Julien Nantel were assigned to San Antonio and Travis Barron was sent back to Ottawa in the OHL.
Considering Ottawa played and lost in their season opener last night, it’s curious why Barron was held around for two days without much on-ice activity. It’s understandable that they haven’t cut the bulk of the AHL bound players with the upcoming busy weekend but giving time to AHL contracted players and try-outs over NHL contracted prospects seems curious as well.
Stay tuned for more cuts as they are announced.
