Colorado Avalanche
Listen, I have felt love for Matt Duchene since I saw how thrilled he was to *not* be drafted because it meant that he could be a member of the Colorado Avalanche…. but this stinks. Yes, it’s optional. But, it’s for charity. Matt Duchene skips Avalanche charity golf tournament amid trade drama. Nikita Zadorov also didn’t show to the event. [Sportsnet]

Surprise: Top ten second-year NHLers to watch this season. There is a surprise, it lists a member of the Colorado Avalanche! Awesome. We’ve got our eye on you, Mikko Rantanen. [The Hockey News] The Rest of the Game

1.) I understand that Dutch didn’t go to the tournament…hopefully he makes a donation to the cause though. If you have a problem with the organization that’s fine, but don’t let it affect the secondary relationships that come with being a respected member of a community that has been pretty good to you.
2.) I’m very excited for Mikko this year. I’d love to see him push for that 30 goal mark.
3.) I hope that most if not all Olympic teams affected by the NHL embargo of it go with young squads rather than aging vets.
By the end of the week, you will probably agree Dutchy is a big part of the problem. 🙂
He wants to be traded, but he is acting like a guy more and more GMs won’t touch.
My piece of advice for him. You want to be traded ? Show up, show leadership, show character and have a better season.
Quite simple in fact.
When did I say that he wasn’t a big part of the problem?? I’ve said all along that if he doesn’t report to camp then I’ll put more stock into his “actions” over his summer break.
I was just teasing you because of the conversation we had yesterday. If Dutchy shows up in good spirits for camp, it will decrease the tension for sure.
The more I hear from Duchene, the less I like him on a personal level. There are things he tweets that are cringeworthy.
Really liked Mack’s answer and last quote, shows maturity and leadership . Gonna need that until this is in the rear view mirror
@ I am so excited to watch Jerome Iginla and Shane Doan in the Olympics next year @
