Alex Beaucage’s Championship Highlights
One Colorado Avalanche prospect played for a championship this season, and of course he won it. Alex Beaucage, of the reigning QMJHL and Memorial Cup champion Rouyn-Noranda Huskies squad from 2019, was traded to Victoriaville at the trade deadline earlier this season.
After a series of unfortunate COVID-19 related pauses and injuries Beaucage was back in action to help his new team to victory with an incredible and league leading 25 points including 10 goals despite missing the first round of the playoffs. He scored a point in every game of the finals capped off by naturally the championship clinching goal in double overtime.
No Husky at heart could let the Val-d’Or Foreurs win a championship on his watch and was the special element that helped a very defensive oriented team pull off one of the largest upsets in QMJHL history in six games. It was in fact Beaucage’s 28th career goal in 40 games against Val-d’Or that sealed the President’s Cup.
Here are Beaucage’s finals series highlights:
Game 1
Beaucage collected an assist in a 3-2 win to open the series where he won the race to the puck a fired it to the front of the net.
