With the Colorado Eagles enjoying an unexpected weekend off plus the NCAA wrapped up from a Colorado Avalanche perspective it was up to the CHL prospects to carry the load for the week.
Still waiting for a contract Justin Barron is plugging away in Halifax and notched his sixth goal of the year on a 5v3. Halifax also continues to play only two opponents as they wait for maritime provinces to open to to travel.

Speaking of another contractless prospect Sasha Mutala‘s Tri-City Americans aren’t much better than they were last season but he’s been contributing as much as he can including opening the scoring on this faceoff goal. He went on to add another tally in the game but they eventually fell 6-2.

After a very impressive showing for Trent Miner in the AHL earlier in the year he’s been back with a dominant effort helping the Vancouver Giants win in the WHL. Through his first three starts Miner has stopped each shot he has faced plus three in a shootout. That’s 64 saves in 185 minutes thus far. Might be time to think about giving him a contract as well.
