Prospect Weekly: The old college try
This week’s highlights from Colorado Avalanche prospects all hail from the NCAA in what proved to be a good weekend on the scoresheet.
Drew Helleson was the story of Friday night with (literally) a SportsCenter top 10 worthy goal as he scored with less than a second left in overtime on this incredible individual effort in which words cannot accurately depict.

Alex Newhook returned to the lineup and immediately made an impact on Boston College’s tragic power play which has been successful less than 10% of the time. His pace and quickness was evident right away plus his playmaking ability was sorely missed as seen here below on an assist. Newhook followed up that game without any points but instead fired nine shots on net.

And just to show all the Boston College Avalanche prospects got in on the action, Colby Ambrosio cleaned up the loose change on his goal of the weekend.

Nicky Leivermann scored three goals himself in a two-game set including this power play maker.
Three power-play goals gave us a 3-0 lead after one.

To conclude, Tyler Weiss is another prospect who provided an overtime winner and even better that it occurred in Denver.
🚨 Weiss wins it in OT for @OmahaHKY!
