Prospect Weekly: Stuffing the Boxscore
After Americans enjoyed their holiday full of turkey and stuffing some Avalanche prospects decided to do some stuffing of their own.
Nick Henry was only getting warmed up as he scored his second hat trick in consecutive weeks, which was the third in his WHL career. Each of the goals were tallied in second period in just under seven minutes of play in 5-3 loss to Prince George. All seen below, the second goal of the trio is an especially impressive backhand shot. Henry was named first star of the game and led team with seven shots on goal. He has now piled up 40 points including 15 goals in 25 games, good for fifth in the league scoring. Henry should be a hot commodity at the holiday trade deadline in the WHL.

Colorado Eagles were glad to be back home and rewarded their fans with a 4-3 win in overtime against San Jose despite losing a third period lead. Ty Lewis and JC Beaudin each scored goals and AJ Greer picked up two assists. Beaudin is fourth on the team in scoring in 18 games with 11 points and Lewis is tied for seventh with eight points as its good to see both given the time and getting contribution most nights.

Martin Kaut saves his goals for clutch time as he scored late in the third period to tie the game less than five minutes left in the contest with what’s becoming his patented wrist shot. Then in the shootout he came through again scoring the slick winning shootout goal as seen below. Kaut is quietly up to tied for fourth in team scoring with 11 points as well. Ty Lewis also added another goal in consecutive nights to kick start the scoring in each game. Eagles won 4-3 and swept the division leaders from San Jose in a much needed successful week.
