#63 has only been worn by a single player in a single year for three games. The man, the myth, the legend: Joel Prpic
Joel Prpic: ’00-’01; 3 GP, 0-0-0, 2PIMs
Joel Prpic was drafted by Boston in the 9th round (223rd overall) in 1993. He was a huge centerman, who opted to pursue a degree at St. Lawrence University. After finishing his senior year, the 6′-7″ forward joined the Bruins affiliate in Providence in 1998 where he spent the vast majority of the next three seasons. He signed as a free agent with Colorado prior to the 2000-2001 season where aside from three games in Denver, he spent most of his time in Hershey. His one-year deal up, he signed with San Jose, but only played for their AHL club in Cleveland. That was it for his time in North America as he opted for the rarely-seen Asian route, joining the Kokudo squad (later renamed the Seibu Prince Rabbits) in Nagano, Japan for seven years. He then did a three-year spell for the KHL Medvescak team in his ancestral home of Croatian and made the national team.
