Who Wore It Best: Number 57?

There have only been two players that have chosen to wear number 57 while playing for the Colorado Avalanche: George Parros and Gabriel Bourque.

George Parros (Regular Season 2GP, 0G, 0A, 0 PIM)

George Parros was drafted 222nd overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1999 Entry Draft. After playing with the Kings one season, he was waived on October 2nd, 2006 and was grabbed by the Colorado Avalanche. He only appeared in two games before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks for a second round pick.

He is now the Head of the Department of Player Safety for the National Hockey League

Gabriel Bourque (Regular Season 64GP, 5G, 6A, 12 PIM)

Gabriel Bourque is the current player who wears number 57 for the Colorado Avalanche. Bourque was drafted 132nd overall by the Nashville Predators. Bourque was not offered a qualifying offer by the Predators, which left him to free agency. He wasn’t able to find a home during the off-season, and he then agreed to attend the┬áColorado Avalanche┬átraining camp on a PTO in September 2016. After a strong showing in training camp and preseason and the Avalanche and Bourque agreed to a two-way one-year contract in October 2016. Since then Bourque has re-signed with the Avalanche twice and has bounced between the NHL and the AHL.

Fun fact: That pick they got for Parros was used to take TJ Galiardi who was part of the trade that brought Sgarbossa to the Avs.
