Avs vs Sharks: GWG Challenge and GDT, Game #44

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Your Colorado Avalanche take on the Sharks of San Jose tonight at the Pepsi Center. Game time is 9pm ET/7pm in the mountains and can be seen on Altitude and NHLtv. Moser’s radio call will be available as usual from the NHL app and Gamecenter.

The Avs open their season series with the Sharks on a 7 game win streak and a couple of changes in the lineup. JT Compher returns after missing a few games with UBI, someone went on IR to make that happen but we’re not sure who as of press time. He takes Tyson Jost’s spot on the 3rd line. Jost hasn’t been on the ice since the Anaheim game where he took a Sam Girard shot in the leg. Dominic Toninato was recalled from San Antonio and he will take AJ Greer’s place on the 4th line at LW. Sven Andrighetto and Tyson Barrie have been skating in non-contact jerseys this week and could be back in the lineup soon. Semyon Varlamov has been skating but not doing goalie things yet and he’s probably a few weeks away at best. Andrew Hammond and David Warsofsky still wait patiently for their Avalanche debuts.

Projectile Lineup

Landy – Mack – Mikko
Nieto – Carl – Comeau
Wilson – Compher – Bourque
Toninato – Kerf – Yak

Big Z – EJ
Nemeth – Barbs
Girard – Lindy

Scratch: Greer, Warsofsky, Andrighetto (LBI), Jost (LBI) <— one of these guys is on IR
Injured: Barrie (hand), Varlamov (LBI), Kamenev (arm)

The Avs take on the Rangers Saturday afternoon
