Avalanche add three more cuts
The Avalanche continue to inch closer to their opening night roster with a light cut heading into their final preseason game at Vegas on Thursday, September 28th.
Two forwards in Dominic Toninato and Reid Petryk were assigned to San Antonio. A strong camp run for Conor Timmins ended as he was sent back to Sault Ste. Marie in the OHL.
This announcement brings the roster to 29 with at least six more cuts to go for a 23 man final roster. These figures include likely IR candidates Joe Colborne and Sergei Boikov so really four tough cuts remain. On defense those still in the running are Chris Bigras, Anton Lindholm, Andrei Mironov, Duncan Siemens, David Warsofsky and Jared Cowen. For the forwards it may come down to between AJ Greer and Gabriel Bourque for the final cut if the Avs elect to keep 14 forwards. Alex Kerfoot seems to have solidified at least a roster spot and the Avs should keep a minimum of 13 forwards.
There may or may not be a cut before the final game so stay tuned.
The four cuts should be Warsofski, Cowen, Greer and Bourque IMO
So, roll with 13 F, 8 D?
Some good players will be cut for a change. Almost don’t know how to react to this. Two D’s and at least one forward to go and I have no idea how the Avs are going to break this down
