Dreaming of the Draft: Firsts
Last night was the opening night in the CHL and several top prospects for the 2018 kicked off the season with a bang. A trio of forwards made a nice first impression.
Up in Moose Country, winger Filip Zadina made his North American debut scoring the first goal for the Halifax Mooseheads in a 4-1 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs. Halifax looks to be much improved with Zadina leading the way in their crop of young talent.

Andrei Svechnikov made his debut with the Barrie Colts in the OHL a memorable affair as they destroyed the Ottawa 67s by a score of 11-2. Svechnikov wasted no time getting on the score sheet with two goals on the evening but it’s this second goal which shows off the blazing shot he possesses. We will see many more for the powerful winger.
Not to be outdone by the Canadian Hockey League, the All-American Prospects Game was last night as well. Brady Tkachuk scored the overtime winner and was named player of the game in a 6-5 victory For Team Leetch over Team Chelios. Tkachuk added an assist on top of that for good measure.
#AAPG: Nice choices made by big LHD Michael Callahan (Ranked No. 277), but Brady Tkachuk does what his dad did so well on odd-man rushes. pic.twitter.com/RwRvwB1bkg
