Prospect Weekly: Scary Good

As the 2024-25 season gets underway around the globe, many Colorado Avalanche prospects have hit the highlight reels. In honor of the parent club kicking off their season, here’s some Avalanche prospect highlights.

William Zellers had a delayed start to his first campaign in the USHL due to an extended injury recovery but it was worth the wait. In his first game with Green Bay he hit the scoresheet twice and showed off his silky mitts.

Jake Fisher started on the fourth line for Denver but that didn’t stop him from scoring in his NCAA debut either.

Continuing on in the NCAA, Taylor Makar got things rolling early with his new team in Maine. In fact, he scored two goals to open the season.

There’s goals happening in Russia, too. Top defense prospect Mikhail Gulyayev has seen his time on ice fluctuate due to the performance of his team but has still found the back of the net twice on the season.

We might be talking about this guy a lot at next year’s training camp. Zakhar Bardakov has eight points including four goals in his first 13 games with SKA in the KHL. Don’t sleep on him.

Not to leave the goaltenders out, Ilya Nabokov and his team have had a few ups and downs to start the year but he’s still making a sizable impact for Magnitogorsk. Big saves are expected but the young netminder can handle the puck too.
