Prospect Weekly: All Hustle
Nick Henry is just waiting for the calendar to flip to March for that Entry Level Contract but in the meantime he created one of the highlights of the week for the WHL in a 5-2 win for Lethbridge over Kootenay. Very similar to his goal the previous week Henry makes some great moves on a breakaway to bury the puck as seen below.

Cale Makar had his usual highlight filled evening in a win 3-0 over UConn. As seen below he throws a wicked backhand pass to an open teammate to open the scoring. Makar now has 36 points in 31 games as he continues his Hobey Baker campaign.

Sampo Ranta produced this beauty assist which helped open the scoring in a 4-3 Minnesota win over at the time second ranked Ohio State. His jump into the play and quick pass on the 2-on-1 is shown below. Getting on the scoresheet helped a great deal with Ranta’s confidence as he was very involved in the rest of the contest.

Although he’s been quiet recently, Denis Smirnov had his best game of the season scoring two goals and adding two assists in Penn State’s 8-2 triumph over Wisconsin. As seen below he pounces on a rebound and buries the puck. For his efforts, Smirnov was named Big10 second star of the week.

After a heavy schedule recently, the Colorado Eagles only had one game on the schedule last week and it was against the Ontario Reign. Unfortunately it was an awful hockey game with multiple ECHL players in the lineup and not enough skill to produce a goal in a 2-0 loss. Therefore, enjoy another Cale Makar highlight in a 3-2 loss to Providence. Here Makar creates a turnover and then finishes on the backhand seen below.
