The Colorado Avalanche continue to inch forward with another minor incremental roster adjustment of four players following their third preseason game as a much larger cut still looms on the horizon. At least a dozen or more cuts remain in what will become a week of tough decisions.
Another set of demotions to the Colorado Eagles included goaltender Justus Annunen. This wasn’t much of a surprise but he only received half a game’s worth of work in the preseason.
AHL contracted players Gabriel Fontaine and Andreas Englund depart to Loveland after a couple exhibition games each.
The first real cut among forward prospects is Jean-Luc Foudy who got in his first NHL (preseason) game last night and seemed to play well enough to increase his time on ice as the game progressed. If there was any lingering question as to Foudy’s future in pro hockey, he has indeed been assigned to the Eagles and not back to junior in the OHL. Foudy should be a staple in the Eagles lineup as he attempts to earn a callup.
