Prospect Weekly: Don’t you forget about me
Martin Kaut doing what he does best using his heavy wrist shot to score for the Colorado Eagles. Since his return Kaut has scored eight points in seven games with a five game point streak going in which he’s scored three goals and been the Eagles’ best player in that stretch. There’s no question he’s ready for the next level at this point.

Conor Timmins is a prospect again for now and scored a power play goal in his second game back with the Eagles. Kaut set him up for the shot right prior to the clip to extend his point streak to five games.
A power play slapper from Timmy!#EaglesCountry pic.twitter.com/NKKBJqhxcn

Luka Burzan scored his first professional goal to get the Eagles on the board as well. He’s made up a nice new look energy fourth line with Nick Henry and Josh Dickinson who each grabbed an assist on the goal as well.
On the board first! Would you Luka at that! 😉#EaglesCountry pic.twitter.com/6yEthiEnQO

In non-North American pro news Nikolai Kovalenko‘s season in the KHL is finally over after Lokomotiv lost game 7 in the second round of the postseason. Now the watch is on to see if he might finally sign a NHL contract and get a look with the Avalanche. If they want to be proactive there is a way to buy out the remaining days until the contract officially expires on May 1st which could get Kovalenko over for some AHL games with the Eagles. If not he could sign for the start of next season any time after that May 1st date. One last highlight and reminder of his game as he fights through traffic to get a shot off and his teammate converts on the rebound.

Alex Newhook and Sampo Ranta have now concluded their seasons as well as both Boston College and Minnesota suffered disappointing defeats in the NCAA tournament. This means each could sign their ELCs or join the Eagles on a try-out agreement if they have decided to turn pro. We shall see. Ranta added one more goal to his robust total which concludes at 19 on the season before hopefully departing for the pros.
